“…Based on the flame radiation spectrum, the temperature and spectral emissivity of the flame can be measured simultaneously. The previous research by the authors showed that the spectral emissivity of the flame of biomass pellets is a variable parameter during the combustion process and that directly adopting the graybody assumption or using the Hottel and Broughton’s emissivity model can cause a temperature measurement error. In the wavelength band of 400–700 nm, the average emissivity of biomass volatile flames was determined to be 0.16 at an equivalence ratio of φ = 0.91, whereas it was 0.10 at an equivalence ratio of φ = 0.71.…”
