Temperature and Power Dependence of Photoluminescence in PBS Quantum Dots Nanoparticles

Abstract: In this study, the synthesis and the effect of temperature and power excitation towards photoluminescence (PL) emission of colloidal PbS quantum dots (QDs) were reported. Water soluble PbS QDs capped with a mixture of 1-thioglycerol (TGL) and dithioglycerol (DTG) was synthesized via colloidal chemistry method at room temperature. The PL emission of PbS QDs was investigated under temperature range from 10 K to 300 K and we found that the PL emission blue-shifted when the temperature is increased. From high reso… Show more

“…In this procedure, the molar ratios of Pb 2+ , S 2− and Mn 2+ precursors were fixed to 1, 0.3 and 0.2, respectively. Zaini et al [28]. From this procedure, the typical size of the QDs obtained was approximately 6.00 ± 1.00 nm.…”

“…PbS QDs were synthesized in an aqueous solution following the procedure as reported in a previous work [ 25 ]. Briefly, Pb(CH 3 COO) 2 .3H 2 O (0.190 g), TGL (26 µL), and DTG (10 µL) were dissolved in deionized water, and the mixture was stirred for 15 min under the flow of nitrogen (N 2 ) gas.…”

“…In this experiment, all chemicals were used without any further purification. The synthesis was started with the preparation of PbS QDs in aqueous solution, which followed the procedure as reported by Zaini et al 23 Briefly, the sample preparation utilized lead (II) acetate to extract Pb 2+ as a lead precursor and sodium sulfide to extract S 2– as a sulfide precursor. TGL and DTG were used as capping ligands.…”
