Temperature Resistance of the Boundary Lubrication Layers Under Rolling with Slippage Condition

Abstract: The influence of slip velocity at rolling with slippage on the intensity of heat release in the local contact at different modes of lubricating action was examined. Efficiency of using different procedures for calculating a temperature increase in the friction contact under conditions of dominating elastohydrodynamic and boundary modes of lubricating action was shown. The interrelation between the processes of heat release intensity in tribotechnical contact and wear of friction pairs was established. It was a… Show more

“…An analysis of recent publications on the use of mathematical models for predicting the reliability and service life of tribosystems at the stage of development and design allows us to conclude that entropy analysis is promising in the study of energy dissipation during friction [3][4][5][6]. For example, in [4], a mathematical model for predicting the reliability of rolling bearings is developed on the basis of the hierarchical Bayesian method of maximum entropy.…”

“…For example, in [4], a mathematical model for predicting the reliability of rolling bearings is developed on the basis of the hierarchical Bayesian method of maximum entropy. Theoretical developments that show the relationship of wear with the thermodynamic concept of entropy are presented in [5][6][7]. This approach allowed the authors of the work to study the effect of consistent grease on the resources of tribosystems.…”
