Abstract:We present a compensation method for the temperature variation of the reference radiometer (NIR) of the MIRAS instrument on the SMOS mission. A similar study done for the prototype of the reference radiometer has been reported at IGARSS'04. Novelty of this study, compared to the previous, lies on the facts that (1) it is based on more thorough temperature cycling, (2) it includes also the antenna and (3) the analysed model (EM) is representative to Flight Model of NIR. We present a thermal model for the NIR fr… Show more
The Noise Injection Radiometer (NIR) for SMOS mission is described. The Engineering Model (EM) of NIR has been developed, qualified, and characterized; results are presented in this paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
