“…[3][4][5] For example, some porous ZnO nanostructures have been prepared to investigate the ability on sensing CO 2 . [6][7][8][9] To be an excellent adsorbent of CO 2 , the factors of surface area, pore size and pore property are all important. Ainara Group reported a potential adsorbent of CO 2 by using GO as support for layered double hydroxides, and the nanocomposite showed great enhanced adsorption amount [9], that is because the functional groups of GO exhibit excellent affinity on CO 2 .…”

“…In the initial stage, HMTA gradually hydrolyzes in the reaction solution and produces OH - [35,36]. Besides, there also exist some Zn(OH) 2 nanoclusters that not turn into ZnO (Figure 1a).…”

“…To overcome these defects, 'one-pot' template-free synthesis methods have been intensely develope to fabricate numerous hollow structures with complicated morphologies and structures. For example, Wang et al have reported a solvothermal approach employing PEG 400 as the solvent to synthesize ZnO hollow microspheres self-assembled by a mass of nanoparticles [18], Yuan et al fabricated nanorod assembled ZnO hollow spheres formed through Ostwald ripening process by a one-pot solvothermal synthesis method [19], Sun et al developed a one-step solvothermal method to synthesize the hierarchically structured ZnO hollow spheres consisting of nanorods [20], Zeng et al developed a three-tiered organization of ZnO nano-building blocks into hollow spherical conformations by using CTAB as surfactant [21], Du et al synthesized ZnO hollow structures by a facile template-free microwave-assisted approach [22]. However, many 'one-pot' template-free synthesis methods need utilizing organics as main solvent, the addition of surfactants or the complicated equipments, which 4 could introduce some impurities bonded to the surface of ZnO and increase experiment cost .…”
