Abstract:BackgroundThe development of immunotherapies against Aβ is burdened by clinical adverse events (AEs) observed as amyloid‐related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) on magnetic resonance imaging scans. The vascular inflammatory AEs have been reported in AD clinical trials administrating certain anti‐Aβ plaque‐binding antibodies and are thought to represent cerebral microhemorrhages and vasogenic edema. ARIA incidence appears apolipoprotein (APOE) genotype‐dependent, wherein APOE E4 allele carriers are at higher risk … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
