“…Its within-genus molecular diversity and phylogeny are insufficiently known. To date, 10 named and six unidentified species of Rhadinorhynchus have been sequenced, mostly concerning the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and the nuclear 18S rRNA (18S) and 28S rRNA genes (García-Varela et al 2002;Nadler 2005, 2006;Amin et al 2011Amin et al , 2019aAmin et al , 2020Verweyen et al 2011;Gregori et al 2013; Attaran Fariman and Nazari Jaafarloo 2014; Braicovich et al 2014;Bao et al 2015;Lisitsyna et al 2019Lisitsyna et al , 2023Steinauer et al 2019;Chaudhary et al 2020;Huston et al 2020;Abdallah et al 2021;Taboubi et al 2021;Martínez-Flores et al 2023), but the internal transcribed spacer regions are also sequenced for a single species (Chaudhary et al 2020).
