Tentativas de suicídio atendidas em unidades públicas de saúde de Fortaleza-Ceará, Brasil

“…Múltiples estudios (14,19,31) expresan la importancia que tiene la asociación entre edad, sexo y trastornos psicopatológicos, de esta manera es más frecuente que en los niños y adolescentes se asocien con mayor frecuencia la depresión y las conductas disociales (16,31,32), mientras que en los adultos jóvenes y en la población anciana sea la depresión la que se asocie con mayor frecuencia al fenómeno del intento de suicidio (26,34). En esta investigación el mayor número de casos de intento de suicidio se ubican entre la población cuyos rangos de edad oscilan entre 21-65 años, 65.8%, que según lo anterior explicaría la alta incidencia de casos de intento de suicidio desencadenado por patologías psiquiátricas como la depresión, el segundo grupo más frecuente se encuentra entre el rango de 12-21 años, 30.1%, lo que corresponde con la alta preponderancia de patología depresiva en adolescentes y adultos jóvenes.…”
