Terlipressine Induced Rhabdomyolysis After Orthotopic Liver Transplantation

Abstract: In this report we present a fatal case of severe rhabdomyolysis during early recovery following a complicated but successful orthotopic liver transplantation. The key point in this case is skin necrosis and we consider that the clinical association of rhabdomyolysis and skin necrosis is a consequence of terlipressine induced severe vasoconstriction. A literature search was performed, in an attempt to identify similar cases as well as other plausible explanations.
