“…Hinoki (Chamaecyparis obtusa) wood is widely used for construction. It was found that Hinoki wood from natural forests had higher termiticidal activity than that from plantation forests, and the higher termiticidal activity was explained by the larger volatile extractive contents and smaller average ring width (Kijidani et al 2012). Antitermite resistance of 15 species of timbers to Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki and Reticulitermes speratus (Kolbe) was evaluated in laboratory tests and field trials.…”
