“…Typically, neutral (−)-levamisole (10) does not undergo C-S bond activation, and binds through the sp 2 nitrogen as a two electron donor to metals such as Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pd and Pt [53][54][55][56]. C-S activation was only observed in Pd, Ru, and Os complexes involving the cationic ligand 10·HCl or the N-methylated derivative (11) [48][49][50].…”

“…Levamisole (lvms), (S)-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-6-phenylimidazo-[2,1-b]thiazole, and levamisole hydrochloride are well known anthelmintic drugs with immunomodulatory (Amery & Bruynseels, 1992) and anticancer (Kovach et al, 1992) activities. However, very few inorganic derivatives of levamisole have been reported: the only examples to date are the mononuclear complexes [MCl 2 (lvms) 2 ] (M = Co, Ni, Cu or Zn; Kovachev et al, 1994), [Pd( 2 -aminoacidato)(lvms) 2 ]Cl (Nijasure et al, 1999) and [PtCl(en)(lvms)]Cl (en is ethylendiamine; Arvanitis et al, 1993). A trinuclear derivative, [Ru 3 (-Cl)(-2 -C 11 H 13 N 2 S-C,S)(CO) 9 ], was also reported by Cabeza et al (2002).…”

“…The two independent molecules of (I) in the asymmetric unit, showing 50% probability displacement ellipsoids. (Amery & Bruynseels, 1992) and anticancer (Kovach et al, 1992) Kovachev et al, 1994), [Pd(η 2 -aminoacidato)(lvms) 2 ]Cl (Nijasure et al, 1999) and [PtCl(en)(lvms)]Cl (en is ? ; Arvanitis et al, 1993).…”

“…Very few inorganic derivatives of levamisole have been reported so far, the only examples being the complexes [MCl 2 (lvms) 2 ] (M ϭ Co, [3] Ni, [3] Pd, [4] Cu, [3] Zn [3] amino acidato)(lvms) 2 ]Cl [4] and [PtCl(en)(lvms)]Cl. [5] Interestingly, the zinc complex [ZnCl 2 (lvms) 2 ] is less toxic and has a higher immunomodulating activity than uncomplexed levamisole.…”
