“…& R. (Cactaceae) . Djerasii and co-workers discovered that M. eruca contained stellatogenin and betulinic acid in 1955. We now report four new triterpenes ( 1−4 ) and four known triterpenes, morolic acid, queretaroic acid, 27-desoxyphillyrigenin, and treleasegenic acid (3β-hydroxytaraxastan-28,20β-olide) from the acid hydrolysate of a MeOH extract.…”

“… Ref: References; + 13 C-NMR data of acetylated compound, *, **, ***, **** Values bearing the same superscript are interchangeable; NR: Not reported; Solvent: CDCl 3 ; a Pyridine-d 5 ; b CD 3 COOD; c CD 3 OD; d DMSO-d 6 ; A Slightly broadened peak, measured at 25 °C; B Broad peak, measured at 35°C; C Very broad peak, determined from HSQC and HMBC spectra at 35°. 13 C-NMR data for L19, L27 [ 159 ], L34, L60, L87 [ 182 , 183 ], L88 [ 182 , 183 ] and L89 were not found. These compounds were identified on the references cited here by comparison of spectroscopic data with those reported in the literature, but we could not get access to the original papers.…”

“…During the course of our study of sapogenins and saponins from cactaceous plants, we previously isolated 13 triterpene sapogenins from Stenocereus eruca [6]: oleanolic acid, thurberogenin, queretaroic acid, treleasegenic acid, machaerogenin, morolic acid, machaeroceric acid, 21-ketobetulinic acid, 16b-hydroxybetulinic acid, 22b-hydroxystellatogenin and desoxyphyllyrigenin, together with stellatogenin and betulinic acid, which had been reported by Djerasii and co-workers in 1955 [11,12]. We now describe the isolation and structural determination of two new saponins from S. eruca.…”
