We investigated the effects of Kalach 360 SL (KL), Glyphosate (G)-based herbicide, on bone tissue in different groups of female Wistar rats. Group 1 (n=6) received a standard diet and served as a control, groups 2 and 3 (n=6 each) received 0.07ml (D1: 126 mg/Kg) and 0.175ml (D2: 315 mg/Kg) of KL dissolved in the water for 60 days. The plasma was used to examine the metabolic balance markers (calcium, phosphorus, phosphatase alkaline (PAL), and vitamin D (vit D) and hormonal status (oestrogen and thyroid hormones). As a result, subchronic exposure to KL induced a perturbation of bone metabolism (calcium and phosphorus) and hormonal status disturbance. The histological and immunohistochemical study of the thyroid gland revealed a disturbance in morphological structure and thyroid cells function. Moreover, the KL disrupting effect on thyroid function was investigated by measuring changes in plasma levels of thyroid hormones. Free triiodothyronine (FT3) and thyroxine (FT4) were decreased in female rats breast-fed from rats treated with D and D2 of KL. This J o u r n a l P r e-p r o o f effect was associated with an increase in the plasma level of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). Thus, that KL leads to hypothyroidism. Decrease in levels of oestrogen and thyroid dysfunction led to a disruption in the skeletal bone. The histological study and SEM in bone results allowed us to observe, in rats exposed to KL, the thinning and discontinuity of bone trabecular with a significant decrease in the number of nodes (intertrabecular links).In conclusion, KL sub-chronic exposure caused an aspect of osteoporosis.

The search for increased productivity of common bean in Upper Katanga by controlling weed justified the study conducted on the site of Institut National Pour l'Etude et la Recherche Agronomiques (INERA, Kipopo) to Kaniameshi during the 2014-2015 cultural season. The test was carried according to a split-plot arrangement with three repetitions. Varieties constituted the main factor CODMLB001, RCB262, HM21-7 and CODMLB007 while in manual weeding; 30 and 60 DAS, unweeding and chemical weeding (3 L haG 1 Paraquat+3 L haG 1 Atrazine) spread 10 days before seedling were the secondary factor. The results showed a positive varietal effect of CODMLB007 on the yield (0.43 t haG 1 ). Managements modes strongly influenced all the observed parameters, but the high seed yield (0.55 t haG 1 ) was performed in row plots manually, against a slight gap (0.51 t haG 1 ) to the chemically treated plots and finally a large gap (0.04 t haG 1 ) for unweeded plots. No any interaction was observed for yield after combination of two factors. Furthermore, the adventitious flora was dominated by the Cyperus rotundus species common to all plots with a max relative frequency (12). This could be explained by biology, the action of management methods and the long monoculture, however, the active matter were applied had a short persistence period in soil. Manual weeding induced awakening dormant buds or by splitting tubers or suppression of stripping, C. rotundus competitor had a high impact opposite the culture and other weeds. Therefore, it would be interesting to advocate a selective post-emergence treatment catching up or combine manual weeding treatment before seedling.Key words: Weeds, common bean, frequency, parameters, interactions INTRODUCTIONCommon bean production in South Katanga remains unsatisfactory although only two entities Moba and Lubudi provide large amounts to the province. Description du sujet: La durabilité écologique de la riziculture dépend principalement des efforts et des capacités des agriculteurs à prendre des décisions et actions rationnelles pour la préservation des ressources naturelles de production. Objectif: L'objectif de cette recherche est d’évaluer la durabilité écologique des différents systèmes de culture rizicole en bas-fonds dans la commune de Malanville au Nord du Bénin. Méthodes: Les données ont été collectées par interview directe à l’aide d’un questionnaire structuré et digitalisé sur KoboCollect (système CAPI). Au total, 283 producteurs ont été identifiés et sélectionnés de manière aléatoire simple. Les analyses des données sont basées sur les statistiques descriptives (moyenne, écart-type et fréquences absolues) et la méthode des Indicateurs de Durabilité des Exploitations Agricoles (IDEA) a permis d’évaluer la durabilité agroécologique. Le modèle Tobit a été utilisé pour identifier les facteurs déterminant le niveau de durabilité écologique des systèmes de culture du riz en bas-fonds. Résultats: Les résultats ont montré que les systèmes de culture pratiqués par les producteurs ne sont pas durables. Cependant, cette durabilité varie largement en fonction des systèmes de culture. Ainsi, le système de culture SCR2 basé sur la transition agroécologique se révèle le plus écologiquement durable. Les variables systèmes de culture et indice d’efficacité économique déterminent le niveau de durabilité écologique des systèmes de cultures rizicoles. Conclusion: L’analyse de la durabilité agroécologique à travers cette étude permet d’apporter la lumière sur les pratiques à conseiller aux producteurs et celles à abandonner, afin de promouvoir la disponibilité des ressources pour les générations futures. English title: Agroecological sustainability of lowland rice (Oryza sativa) cultivation systems in the commune of Malanville in northern Benin Subject description: The ecological sustainability of rice cultivation depends mainly on the efforts and abilities of farmers to make rational decisions and actions for the preservation of natural production resources. Objective: The main of this research is to assess the ecological sustainability of different lowland rice cropping systems in the Municipality of Malanville in northern Benin. Methods: Data were collected by direct interview using a structured and digitized questionnaire on KoboCollect (CAPI system). A total of 283 farmers were identified and selected in a simple random fashion. Data analyses were based on descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation and absolute frequencies) and the Farm Sustainability Indicators (IDEA) method was used to assess agroecological sustainability. The Tobit model was used to identify factors determining the level of ecological sustainability of lowland rice cropping systems. Results: The results showed that the cropping systems practiced by the farmers are not sustainable. However, this sustainability varies widely depending on the cropping system. Thus, the SCR2 cropping system based on the agroecological transition is the most ecologically sustainable. The variables cropping systems and economic efficiency index determine the level of ecological sustainability of rice cropping systems. Conclusion: The analysis of agroecological sustainability through this study sheds light on the practices to be advised to farmers and those to be abandoned, in order to promote the availability of resources for future generations.
