The ability of brown-rot fungus Daedalea dickinsii to decolorize and transform methylene blue dye

Abstract: The ability of Daedalea dickinsii to decolorize and transform methylene blue (MB) dye was investigated. MB was decolorized in potato dextrose agar medium after adding MB at concentrations of 50, 75, and 100 mg L. D. dickinsii decolorized MB with decolorization index values of 0.92, 0.90, and 0.88 at MB concentrations of 50, 75, and 100 mg L, respectively. The 100 mg L MB concentration was selected for biotransformation in liquid potato dextrose broth medium. D. dickinsii transformed approximately 54% of the MB… Show more

“…The P. eryngii culture was maintained on a 9-cm diameter of PDA plates (Difco, UK) that had been incubated at 30 o C. Mycelium (1-cm diameter) were transferred into PDB (Difco) medium in a 100-ml Erlenmeyer flask (10 ml). The cultures were also pre-incubated for 7 days at 30 o C [36][37][38].…”

“…The F. pinicola NBRC 8705 (NITE Biological Resources Center (NBRC), Chiba, Japan) was cultivated as stock culture in a 9-cm diameter plates containing potato dextrose agar (PDA; Merck Darmstadt, Germany) at 30 C. A 1-cm diameter of mycelia from stock culture was inoculated into a 10 ml potato dextrose broth (PDB; Merck Darmstadt, Germany) medium in a 100-ml Erlenmeyer flask, and then was preincubated at 30 C for 7 days (Rizqi and Purnomo, 2017;Purnomo et al, 2017a;Boelan and Purnomo, 2019).…”
