Abstract: The abscopal effect is a phenomenon wherein localised therapy on the primary tumour leads to regression of distal metastatic growths. Interestingly, various pre-clinical studies utilising sonodynamic therapy (SDT) have reported significant abscopal effects, however, the mechanism remains largely enigmatic.
