The action and mechanism of myrislignan on A549 cells in vitro and in vivo

Abstract: Myrislignan is a natural compound with little pharmacological study. In our investigation, we investigated the effect of myrislignan in the induction of apoptosis in A549 cells in vitro and in vivo. Myrislignan inhibited the proliferation of A549 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner assayed by MTT. In addition, Hoechst flow cytometry showed that myrislignan significantly induced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in A549 cells. The apoptosis and anti-cell proliferation was mediated by the activation of mito… Show more

“…With the purpose of evaluating the anti-cancer capacity of compound 127, Wan et al [49] verified through western blot assay based on Lu et al [88] the regulatory roles of compound 127 in ROS/mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase (MEK)/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathways and effects of these on the autophagy, migration, and invasion. N-acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) was used as a ROS remover was able to suppress ROS production, and the role of compound 127 in MEK/ERK signaling.…”

“…Elemicin has antibacterial effects [29] and α-phellandrene, anti-inflammatory [30], so using maceration with water is more effective if a bigger effect is needed. Myrislignan has anti-inflammatory [31] and anti-cancer [32] effects. This compound was not extracted using ethanol [8].…”
