Abstract: This research aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based solar power plant (PLTS) monitoring system as a learning media in the Department of Electrical Engineering Education at Medan State University. The monitoring system is called EduSolar, designed using a combination of hardware devices such as the Arduino UNO microcontroller, current, voltage, power, and light intensity sensor modules, as well as the ESP8266 WiFi module for IoT connectivity. The EduSolar system can monitor and display real-time important parameters of the solar power plant through a website interface. This research utilizes the ADDIE development method, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The validation results from media experts showed a feasibility percentage of 81.28%, while the validation by subject matter experts reached 80.83%. The student response test also indicated that the EduSolar system was deemed "feasible" as a learning media with a percentage of 78.46%. Therefore, this IoT-based PLTS monitoring system integrated as a learning media has been proven effective in enhancing students' understanding of solar energy technology.
