The Affirmation – Tapping on Pain Perception and Serotonin Serum Level of Post – Caesarian Section patients

Abstract: Introduction: Affirmation - tapping interventions have been shown to reduce pain complaints in post-operative patients completing conventional treatment. This is thought to be due to serotonin performance but clinical studies have not been conducted. The aim was to compare the mean perception of the pain reported by post-operative patients given affirmation- tapping treatment with another treatment as a complementary nursing intervention. This was to see if the performance of the serotonin serum level is diffe… Show more

“…[ 46 ] Evidence suggests that relaxing signals will be sent to different areas of the brain by tapping energy points during EFT, thereby lowering cortisol and increasing serotonin and dopamine in the brain, which consequently leads to the induction of a sense of calm, self-fulfillment, and empowerment in individuals. [ 47 48 ] EFT is a more well-known method today than in previous years, but so far little academic clinical research has studied the efficacy of this new technique in alleviating physical and psychological problems. Therefore, more clinical research studies are needed to verify the efficacy of this new technique.…”

“…He believes that human beings can achieve self‐confidence and prosperity by tapping on energy points and expressing negative and positive indoctrinations and making the impossible possible (Craig, 2011). Since many of the diseases, problems, and stresses of modern human life are rooted in the soul and psyche of the individual, EFT researchers acknowledge that tapping energy points during EFTs sends calming signals to different areas of the brain, reducing cortisol and increasing serotonin in the brain and ultimately inducing a sense of calm and happiness in people (Falup‐Pecurariu et al, 2021; Suwito et al, 2019). EFT is a relatively well‐known method today, and modern medical science has realized some of the effects of this technique through brain imaging and clinical trials (Feinstein, 2019; König et al, 2019).…”

“…Previous research found that tapping was proven to improve mood and calm by 1.94 ± 3.03 (p < 0.05), and that tapping reduced tension (Al-Ghabeesh et al, 2018). Research by Suwito et al (2019) found differences in serotonin levels in the group receiving tapping and affirmation-tapping using prayers, with the serotonin levels in the affirmation-tapping group being higher (0.69 ± 0.13 vs. 0.37 ± 0.06). This opinion is reinforced by Kusnanto et al (2018) who mention praying by focusing attention and thoughts on God followed by tapping as in SEFT therapy will decrease cortisol and increase serotonin.…”
