Abstract: The akinetic crisis is defined as an acute, potentially life-threatening, levodopa-resistant, severe aggravation of rigidity, severe akinesia, associated with high fever, disturbance of consciousness, dysphagia and autonomic symptoms often due to disruption of dopaminergic medication or infections.
