“…Our sample of M. fowleri was obtained from Phrae, not distant from the type locality, but was not much divergent from M. berdmorei, with p-distance of 3.9-4.4%. This result favors synonymizing M. fowleri with M. berdmorei as already done by Taylor (1962).…”

“…In our results Micryletta inornata was paraphyletic with respect to M. steinegeri. The sample of M. inornata from northern Thailand (M. i. inornata) and M. steinegeri were genetically close (uncorrected p-distance in 16S of 2.9%), while the sample of M. inornata from southern Thailand (M. i. lineata of Taylor, 1962) was more divergent from them with uncorrected p-distances of 4.9-5.1%, which values exceed those reported between different frog species (Fouquet et al, 2007). These results support the separation of two subspecies of M. inornata into two distinct species, but such a revision includes problems.…”

“…We sampled frogs from across Southeast Asia that were identified in taxonomic studies on the basis of morphology as O. livida and R. chalconota (Boulenger 1920;Taylor 1962;Inger 1966;Inger & Chanard 1997;Bain et al 2003). We sequenced and analysed 2150 aligned characters of mitochondrial (mt) DNA (partial COXIII, complete tRNA Gly , complete ND3, partial tRNA Arg , partial 16S, partial tRNA Met , complete ND2, and partial tRNA Trp genes) from frogs morphologically resembling O. livida and 1082 aligned characters of mt DNA (partial COXIII, complete tRNA Gly , complete ND3, partial tRNA Arg , partial 16S genes) from frogs morphologically resembling R. chalconota.…”
