The Antibacterial Properties and Safety of a Nanoparticle-Coated Parquet Floor

Abstract: Floor antibacterial technology prevents the human body from cross-infection with bacterial diseases. The most commonly used approach to endow daily-used floors with antibacterial properties is to apply a thin film of antibacterial agents on the parquet floor surface. In the present study, five commercial antibacterial nanoparticles were first dispersed in melamine resin solution, and then applied on a floor. Afterwards, the antibacterial properties of the nanoparticle-coated floor were investigated, in which E… Show more

“…If this assignment is correct, the two-fingerprint peaked of MCC would also feature the relative torsions of the glucose segments of the backbones. In this situation, all the glucose united in the backbones vibrated collectively and exhibited a collective wave-like feature [40,41]. This explanation might also apply to the assignment of the small peak around 2.25 THz of WC in Figure 7.…”

“…Due to these characteristics, they can be used as an efficient disinfectant to sterilize surfaces or medical equipment, and devices in the industry during the food packaging process or in environmental usage as air and water disinfectant [178]. AgNPs can also be used to impregnate and functionalize textiles [179], but they can also be used as coating for wood flooring [180].…”

“…To evaluate the mechanical stability of the hydrophobic surface of wood with different sections, abrasion tests were carried out using the sandpapers (Alibaba, Hangzhou, China) with 1500 mesh [32]. During the test, the sandpaper was moved on the superhydrophobic surface of wood with close contact and kept in one direction with a constant speed.…”
