Abstract: Background: Natural antimicrobial peptides are used in the fight against pathogens resistant to existing synthetic antibiotics. The non-specific mechanism of cytostatic action of antimicrobial peptides, in particular gramicidin S, against bacteria is also effective for damaging the cells of neoplasms.
