“…Fusobacteria primarily consisted of Cetobacterium genera in this study, which are widely recognized as vitamin B 12 and acetate-producing bacteria [ 69 , 70 ], and has an important role in improving intestinal health and nutritional metabolism [ 71 ]. In this study, dietary NSPs supplementation increased the abundance of Cetobacterium , suggesting that dietary NSPs benefit the intestinal health of grass carp.…”

“…Activation of liver and adipose tissue PPARγ by SCFAs regulates lipid metabolism by increasing energy expenditure, reducing inflammation in adipose tissue, improving insulin sensitivity, reducing body weight, and decreasing hepatic TG accumulation ( Besten et al, 2015 ). A study in fish showed that the effects of olanzapine on lipid metabolism may be related to the regulation of the gut microbiota–SCFA–PPAR signaling pathway ( Chang et al, 2022 ). The gut microbiome was significantly altered in carp that were administered olanzapine, as evidenced by an increase in the abundance of SCFA-producing bacteria, which led to an increase in the production of SCFAs.…”

“…Numerous studies had demonstrated that dietary composition played a critical role in maintaining gut flora homeostasis and affecting organismal metabolism (Chang et al, 2023;Wang et al, 2022;Zheng & Wang, 2021). Considering the strong link between gut microbial homeostasis and liver health, it is hypothesized that dysbiosis of the gut microflora may be a significant contributor to liver injury caused by broad bean.…”

“…Conversely, short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs), particularly butyric acid, produced by intestinal flora (e.g., Bacteroides immitis , Bacteroides thickettsii ), contribute to maintaining the integrity of the intestinal barrier and safeguarding liver health (Zheng & Wang, 2021). Numerous studies had demonstrated that dietary composition played a critical role in maintaining gut flora homeostasis and affecting organismal metabolism (Chang et al., 2023; Wang et al., 2022; Zheng & Wang, 2021).
