The application of expert system in the design of crt information display for process control systems

Abstract

In this study, an expert system for the design of CRT information display was developed which organized the relevant design knowledge and provided a user‐friendly tool for the design of information display. An optimal design depends on the integration of many different aspects of knowledge, such as system characteristics, mental models, human factors principles, etc. In this study, the concept of mental model was applied during the process of design, and the knowledge was analyzed to fit the structure of the expert system.
