Abstract:Nitrogen oxides of atomic economy are promising nitrating agents instead of common nitric and sulphuric acids in the industrial preparations of nitro compounds. This review provides recent developments of nitration using nitrogen oxides found in applied research. Novel nitration involving three classes of nitrogen oxides is described for the synthesis of organic intermediates, medicinally relevant compounds, natural products, high energy density materials, and some catalytic materials.

To pursue a sustainable and efficient approach for aliphatic nitroester preparation from alcohol, Europium triflate-catalyzed nitration, that directly used commercial nitric acid, has been successfully developed. Gram scalability with operational...
A modified mesoporous Y zeolite is developed to catalyze high ortho regioselective nitration of azobenzene with NO2 as nitro source. The mesoporous Y zeolite is modified by ion exchanged method...
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
