The application of resveratrol to mesenchymal stromal cell-based regenerative medicine

Abstract: Currently, the transplantation of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) has emerged as an effective strategy to protect against tissue and organ injury. MSC transplantation also serves as a promising therapy for regenerative medicine, while poor engraftment and limited survival rates are major obstacles for its clinical application. Although multiple studies have focused on investigating chemicals to improve MSC stemness and differentiation in vitro and in vivo, there is still a shortage of effective and safe agent… Show more

“…RSV has been reported to have antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, antiapoptotic and other effects ( Hu and Li, 2019 ; Yanez et al, 2019 ; Zhang X. L. et al, 2020 ). To clarify the effect of RSV on stem cells, BMSCs were cultured with different concentrations of RSV for different times.…”

“…Furthermore, cell cluster of adipose-derived MSCs were observed suggesting that differentiation of adipose-derived MSCs into CMs associated with MSC paracrine capacity contributes to cardiac improvement against doxorubicin detrimental effects [ 234 ]. In addition to the reported data, MSCs previously treated with resveratrol and injected into a failed myocardium, induce cardiac differentiation and enhance MSC paracrine effects in an animal model of doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy [ 235 ].…”
