Abstract:Common approaches for deciphering biological networks involve network embedding algorithms. These approaches strictly focus on clustering the genes’ embedding vectors and interpreting such clusters to reveal the hidden information of the networks. However, the difficulty in interpreting the genes’ clusters and the limitations of the functional annotations’ resources hinder the identification of the currently unknown cell’s functioning mechanisms. Thus, we propose a new approach that shifts this functional expl… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
