Abstract:Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) is the autoimmune condition caused by untreated group A streptococcal (GAS) infection of the throat and possibly skin. Repeated or severe untreated attacks of ARF can cause permanent heart damage known as rheumatic heart disease (RHD).
