Abstract: The biblical Nesher נֶשֶׁר is the Griffon Vulture ( Gyps fulvus). Both the biblical Nesher and ornithological Griffon are known for their ‘bald’ head, enormous wingspan, effortless flight, cliff nesting, devoted nurturing, rapid descent, and group feasting on carrion.
