The use of a variable such as the force-time integral has also been proposed as more representative of cumulative tissue stress than peak pressure alone (22) because it includes a time component in the assessment of loading. An additional advantage of the approach described is that the time between prescription and dispensing can be greatly reduced compared with present standards because of the automation of the design and manufacturing process.…”
