Abstract. The article is devoted to analysis of the prerequisites for the emergence and study of Russian women's prose in China. Special attention is paid to historical and cultural prerequisites and extensive translation of famous Russian women writers. It is concluded that the study of Russian women's prose has been influenced by the development of world women's literature and its translation, the adaptation of Western feminist literary theories, and the acceptance of this prose in China. The materials of the article are the main works of Chinese Russianists since the 1980s. The methods of generalization and sampling analysis have been applied.
