Due to its flexibility, online instruction has become the new normal in education. Utilizing various digital tools, learners can engage in online learning activities. One of the e-learning platforms is asynchronous e-learning for Madrasah, which provides a flexible and engaging learning environment. This study aimed to explore the experiences and motivations of EFL learners who used E-learning in an English course. This qualitative case study used observation, interviews, and document review. A purposeful sampling technique was used to recruit 15 students to participate. The data was validated using triangulation of methods and data sources. EFL learners' experiences with E-learning in English subjects were classified into five categories: (1) course information access, (2) Autonomous learning, (3) Adaptation to technology, 4) Web-based learning system, and (5) Technical support. Furthermore, the motivations of EFL learners to use e-learning in an English course can be categorized into two groups: (1) Intrinsic motivation and (2) Extrinsic motivation. Pedagogically, e-learning has provided new experiences for students; therefore, e-learning should be adopted in this new normal era.

Among the most popular learning management systems (LMS) available worldwide is Moodle. This current study examines how learners’ attitudes toward English as a foreign language (EFL) and their language proficiency are affected by Moodle’s interactive language-learning activities. Thirty-three undergraduate students participated in this study. We investigated the effects of engaging language-learning exercises that were practiced on Moodle using an experimental research design. To find out if the experimental and control groups differed significantly from one another on pre- and post-measures regarding the development of language skills and attitudes toward language classrooms, a number of statistical tests were employed. We conducted a data analysis using SPSS software. The results demonstrated that there were differences favoring the experimental group in the development of language skills and the attitudes of learners toward the language classroom. There were no apparent differences in forming structures, speaking, or listening compared to the control group’s learners. On the other hand, there were notable differences in the overall score, writing and reading skills, and lexical item mastery. Additionally, significant differences in the language acquisition growth of the experimental and control groups were found using an independent-sample t-test in the post-test, with the experimental group benefiting.

Wattpad thrives in the Philippines, boasting over 5 million usersThis study explored the implications of reading Wattpad stories among readers at UM Digos College. The study used a phenomenological descriptive research design and Colaizzi’s method of thematic analysis to explore the perceptions of readers regarding the reasons, motivations, and roles of Wattpad in their lives. The study found that there are seven emergent themes: enjoyment and satisfaction, life's inspiration, satisfying curiosity, providing excitement, developing empathy, convenience reading, and life lessons as participants reasons for reading Wattpad stories. It was also reported that the impact of the characters, relatable stories and scenes, emotional appeal, and being influenced by friends and family were reasons for people to engage themselves more in continuing to read Wattpad stories. Furthermore, the study also showed that they perceive Wattpad as a source of providing moral lessons, motivation to write, providing comfort, emotional awareness, being influential to living, grammatical awareness, and stress relieving. The study's findings suggest using Wattpad-like content to enhance learning and guide students towards responsible reading habits. Further, school stakeholders can integrate Wattpad stories as contemporary literary text subject in language courses.
