Commutation properties of the electronic Hamiltonian operator indicate that superconductivity is caused by a spin-phonon interaction rather than by the usually considered spin-independent electron-phonon interaction. The proposed spin-phonon interaction is a new exchange effect which goes beyond the Born-Oppenheimer approximation and in which the electron spins couple t o phonons as a consequence of the Pauli principle, the crystal symmetry, and the conservation of spin angular momentum.Vertauschungsrelationen des elekt,ronischen Hamiltonoperators deuten an, daB Supraleitung nicht durch die iiblicherweise betrachtete spinunabhangige Elektron-Phonon-Wechselwirkung, sondern durch eine Spin-Phonon-Wechselwirkung verursacht wird. Diese Wechselwirkung ist ein neuer Austauscheffekt, der iiber die Born-Oppenheimer-Xiherung hinausgeht und bei dem aufgrund des Pauliprinzips, der Kristallsymmetrie und der Spindrehimpulserhaltung die Elektronenspins an die Phononen koppeln.

CESR is a highly effective tool to study the interaction among conduction electrons in normal metals, In superconductors below Tc it can reveal vital information concerning the pairing interactions. A.comparative study of high Tc and conventional superconductors is presented and it is shown that the disappearance of CESR in the superconducting state is a feature common to both conventional and high Tc superconductors and establishes the importance of exchange interactions in pairing. This is supported by experimental observations.

From the band structures of superconductors it is concluded that the formation of Cooper pairs is connected with exchange interaction existing only in the conduction bands of superconductors. Nevertheless, the pairing is mediated by phonons. This new coupling mechanism, which does not contradict the BCS mechanism, provides an understanding of superconducting properties of materials.Aus den Randstrukturen von Supraleitern wird geschlossen, da13 die Bildung von Cooper-Paaren mit einer Aushuscliwechselwirkung verkniipft ist, die nur in den Leitungsbiindern von Supraleitern existiert. Dennoch wird die Paarbildung durch Phononen bewirkt. Dieser neue Kopplungsmechanismus, der dem BCS-Mechanismus nicht widerspricht, liefert ein Verstindnis fur die Supraleitungseigenschaften der Materialien.
