The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation systems in the digital world challenges agricultural extension. This study investigates the contemporary significance of diverse and productive agriculture, specifically focusing on agricultural extension. This study investigates the implementation of agricultural extension services in Indonesia's automation, digital, and adapting environments through a comprehensive review of existing literature. Studies have indicated that agricultural extension plays a crucial role in mitigating climate change. This study assesses the effectiveness of agricultural extension services in different environments in Indonesia through qualitative research methods. Information was gathered by conducting interviews, surveys, and field observations. The results demonstrate the indispensability of agricultural extension in all types of environments, particularly in addressing climate change. It has been ascertained that each environment necessitates distinct educational approaches. Digital environments prioritise acquiring technical knowledge, automation environments necessitate education in sustainable agricultural practices, and adapting environments prioritise integrating field experience and local knowledge. This study provides an extensive review of the functions of agricultural extension. It demonstrates that agricultural extension can combat climate change. Furthermore, it underscores the importance of employing educational methods and approaches tailored to the specific environment, as this will influence the development of agricultural extension education.

Participatory communication will occur if in its implementation it takes into account the characteristics of the community based on their potential and local wisdom. This research examines how participatory communication is implemented in community empowerment programs on the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border. The results of the research explain that community empowerment program communication has not been fully carried out in a participatory manner with dialogue that involves the full support of the community. Government support in building communication participation has been implemented, but not all people at the border can feel it. The characteristics of the community on the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border are relatively low, as can be seen from the low level of education, income level, access to communication and low access to information. Government support has not been optimal in terms of access to information on community empowerment programs at the border.

This paper explores citizens’ views regarding the application of participatory communication in the delivery of development services within the decentralised government system of Ghana. The participatory theory informed the core issues of this study. Data were obtained from 309 inhabitants selected from three administrative areas in the Central Region using the quota sampling technique. Questionnaires and researcher-administered survey were used to gather data and analysed using means, standard deviations, Kruskal Wallis test, independent samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The study revealed that issues of empowerment were moderately applied in development services. Again, people-centred approaches to the delivery of development services were lowly considered. Overall, participatory communication principles have not received adequate attention during the delivery of development services. The situation was the same across the three-tier decentralised government system. Despite their educational differences, respondents expressed similar opinions on the application of participatory development principles. Participatory communication faced challenges like the absence of well-trained development communicators, inadequate resources, low motivation on the part of local representatives, a low sense of ownership, and an absence of clear institutional policies on communication. The paper outlines key practical implications of the findings, including the need for governments to set up the necessary institutional framework to aid the incorporation of participatory communication techniques into the development strategies of Assemblies.
