Previous studies have shown that many types of cis ‐acting elements were present in the WRKY promoters of nine species, including ABREs (Nakashima & Yamaguchi‐Shinozaki, 2013), GA response elements (P‐box) (Liu et al., 2016), jasmonic acid (JA) response elements (MeJA responsive) (Rabara et al., 2013), SA response elements (TCA‐element) (Zheng et al., 2021), temperature response elements (LTR) (Wu et al., 2019), light response elements (GATA motif‐containing) (Chen et al., 2022), defense responsive elements (TC‐rich repeats) (Zheng et al., 2021), wound‐responsive elements (WUN motif‐containing) (He et al., 2021) and drought response elements (MBSs) (Zheng et al., 2021).
