The CNR telecommunication project: An updated overview

Abstract

An updated overview of the research activities carried out within the scopes of the CNR Telecommunication Project is given. The main results of these activities are briefly described, with reference to the evolution of ISDN towards broadband capabilities, technologies for optical communications, terminal equipment and signal processing issues, access and switching techniques for an ATM environment and some experimental realizations of high speed networks.
