Abstract:Collective dipole excitations for small clusters have been considered in the energy range close to the visible light. The absorption energies and static dipole polarizabilities are estimated. In the case of Ag8, Na18, Na20, Cs40, Mg10, Ba20, Ag9+, Na21+, and Mg11++ clusters, a semiclassical density functional method with the Thomas‐Fermi approximation has been used. Also, applications in Al6, Al7, (ZnS)3, and (ZnSe)4 will be discussed. The results are compared with the available data.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
