“…In line with the results of the present study and other studies, cold ap- plication can be said to be an effective method in controlling the pain felt during the chest tube removal process. 3,4,6,14,21,27 In the present study, local anesthesia applied to the patients prior to the intervention significantly reduced the pain they experienced during the removal of the tube. The literature review demonstrated that although there were no studies conducted in the way the present study was conducted, there are studies comparing pharmacological agents with each other.…”

“…The results of several studies conducted on the issue are consistent with those of the present study. [3][4][5][6][7]21,22,26,27 The comparison of the mean pain scores obtained before and immediately after the chest tube was removed in terms of the different methods applied to the patients during chest tube removal demonstrated that the mean pain scores increased significantly in the progressive muscle relaxation exercise and control groups but decreased significantly in the cold application and local anesthesia groups. Fifteen minutes after the removal of the chest tube, the mean pain score continued to decrease significantly in the cold application and local anesthesia groups and slightly in the progressive muscle relaxation exercise group.…”

“…We also found significant improvements in ROM, muscle strength, pain intensity, and functional status in both the IPC and CP groups, in accordance with the findings of Külcü et al [36], who reported that conventional treatment significantly improved the functional status in patients with knee OA. Similarly, Yarahmadi et al [37] reported that combined intervention including cold therapy effectively reduced the pain intensity.…”

“…Various studies have reported that relaxation music or music therapy during, before or after invasive medical procedures can alleviate anxiety and discomfort of patients in the general surgery 20,33 oncology, 35 cardiology, 36 intracardiac catheterization, 22,35,[43][44][45] obstetrics, 37 colonoscopy, [46][47][48][49] and dentistry 34,50 clinics. Since therapeutic music increases positive emotions by increasing endorphin release and decreases negative emotions such as fear and anxiety, when the emotions experienced by the patients before and after the transplantation were compared in our study, it was found that patients felt better after the music therapy than before.…”

“…32 Various studies have reported that music therapy during, before or after invasive medical procedures can have a positive impact on patients. 20,[33][34][35][36][37] However, to the best of our knowledge, there has not been a study of the application of TMTITC for patients in the HSCT process. Therefore, in the current study, the effect of music therapy with Shahnaz maqam on the physical and mental parameters of cancer patients during HSCT was explored with a holistic approach.…”
