The commissioning of the CMS ECAL detector with cosmics and first LHC beams

Abstract:This paper describes the trigger and data acquisition system of the Electromagnetic Calorimeter of the CMS experiment. The organization of the online software for system control and monitoring will also be described. The performance of the system in cosmic runs and with the rst LHC beams is presented.
