The Comparison of Preheat Fuel Characteristics of Biodiesel and Straight Vegetable Oil

Abstract: Biodiesel is an alternative fuel derived from varies sources of vegetable oils, animal fat, or waste frying oil to give the corresponding fatty acid methyl ester. The properties of alternative fuel of CPO biodiesel and SVO biodiesel have been investigated at different temperature. The biodiesel was blended up palm oil blending ratio from 515vol% (B5B15) and straight vegetable oil ratio from 515vol% (S5S15). The properties were tested at 27.5°C, 40°C, 50°C and 60°C with observed the changes of the density, kine… Show more

“…In some cases, it also can make the properties of biodiesel become close to baseline diesel at some condition of temperature. The water content and viscosity of biodiesel is getting close to baseline diesel when preheat at to certain level of temperature [8]. Experiment of Cheng et al [9] state that the biodiesel stored under 20 o C degrades less compared to the one that stored in 40 o C. If biodiesel are stored in a high temperature environment and allowed to expose to ambient air, the degradation will be greatly increase.…”

“…Pemanasan bahan bakar telah menunjukkan perubahan karakteristik tidak hanya dalam bentuk viskositas, kepadatan, tegangan permukaan bahan bakar, tetapi juga dapat menurunkan kadar air dalam bahan bakar (Khalid et al, 2014). Pemanasan bahan bakar menunjukkan peningkatan efisiensi termal dan tekanan silinder (Martin, Geo and Nagalingam, 2017).…”
