The complete chloroplast genome of an endangered speciesCymbidium mastersii(Orchidaceae)

Abstract: Cymbidium mastersii Griff. & Lindl. is an endangered orchid. In this study, we report the complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequence and the cp genome features of C. mastersii. The cp genome sequence of C. mastersii was 155,362 bp in length. It included one large single-copy region (LSC, 84,465 bp), one small single-copy region (SSC, 20,647 bp), and two inverted repeat regions (IRs, 25,125 bp). The cp genome encoded 130 genes, of which 107 were unique genes (80 protein-coding genes, 23 tRNAs, and 4 rRNAs). The … Show more

“…The specimens of C. mastersii (MK848042) were gathered from Shenzhen, China in 2019, the complete chloroplast genome was 155,362 bp in length and contained 80 protein-coding genes, 23 tRNAs, and 4 rRNAs (Fang et al. 2019 ). In our research, the C. mastersii (MT576627) was collected from the wild resource of Yunnan province in 2020, and the complete chloroplast genome was 156,317 bp in length and contained 73 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes and 4 rRNA genes.…”

“…So far, about 16 complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequences of Cymbidium have been reported, such as C. erythraeum (Huang et al 2019), C. floribundum (Zhang et al 2019), and C. mastersii (Zheng et al 2019). The data of complete cp genome will serve as a foundation to species identification, germplasm diversity, genetic engineering of Cymbidium.…”
