These are not to be taken as the 12 "main" or "flagship" features that describe everyday creativity. Furthermore, although each characteristic is embodied to varying extents in the preceding chapters, together they represent only one possible thematic integration of the material in Everyday Creativity and New Views of Human Nature. They do, however, reflect some major concerns of the contributors, and so are considered here along with the author's own additional comments and linkages to other literature. Beyond this, the 12 characteristics do not reflect, as one colleague joked, a 12-step program for recovery from lowered creativity! One, however, could do worse. These 12 features highlight important concerns in creative functioning and development, for both individuals and groups, and are presented here to help us think about them.
