The crystal structure of bis(salieylaldoximato)copper(II), [OC6H4CH:NOH]2Cu , has been determined from three-dimensional X-ray diffraction data, hO1 through h31. The cell has dimensions a=13.98, b =6-08, c=8.00 :~, fl=97 ° 35", space group P21/c, and contains two molecules. The molecule has a trans-planar configuration and deviates slightly, but significantly, from complete planarity. The copper(II) ion has a distorted octahedral coordination with Cu-:N =1-94 :~ and Cu-O = 1.92 and 2-66 A.
