The current stage in aerospace at the end of 2020

Abstract: The paper briefly presents some models of aircraft considered avant-garde in 2020, and it is part of the reviews on news in aviation and aerospace. It briefly presents some basic features, news, and more important data for each new model on display, so that the reader can get an image of that model but also an overall one, to compare different models from a particular manufacturer with each other, as well as with those belonging to another manufacturer. Aircraft manufacturers are constantly concerned with modi… Show more

“…This can help to minimize risks and avoid costly mistakes. Collaborating with experts should be considered, such as 3D printing service providers or design consultants, to optimize their processes and leverage their expertise [73,74]. Lastly, SMEs should continuously improve their processes by monitoring their results, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes.…”

“…Major aircraft manufacturеrs havе lеvеr-agеd DT to crеatе virtual rеplicas of complеx aircraft componеnts, еnabling thеm to simulatе various flight conditions, analyzе structural intеgrity and optimizе maintе-nancе schеdulеs (Hänel et al, 2020). This proactivе approach to aircraft maintеnancе has significantly rеducеd downtimе, еxtеndеd thе lifеspan of critical componеnts and еnhancеd ovеrall flight safеty, thеrеby undеrscoring thе pivotal rolе of DT in fostеring opеrational rеlia-bility and cost-еffеctivе maintеnancе stratеgiеs within thе aеrospacе industry (Petrescu and Petrescu, 2022).…”

“…Similarly, 3D-printed trays and fixation plates enhance medical outcomes and trim operation room time in maxillofacial surgery. A study [7] highlighted enhanced bone formation and angiogenesis with custom implants. Furthermore, complete dentures are also attainable through additive manufacturing, with results varying; some studies note slightly lower aesthetics for 3D-printed dentures, while others report aesthetics comparable to standard dentures, emphasizing the benefits of facial simulation before final prosthetic printing.…”

“…The technology allows for the creation of lightweight and complex geometries, a crucial factor in designing components for aircraft and spacecraft. From turbine blades to structural components, 3D printing enhances the performance and fuel efficiency of aerospace systems while enabling a more sustainable approach to manufacturing [7].…”
