Medical workers representing the group is the most consistently are exposed to low doses of ionizing radiation, prolonged low-level ionizing radiation can induce chromosomal aberrations (CAs). This study would evaluate the cytogenetic effect using the CAs based on dicentric, and cytokinesis-blocked micronucleus (CBMN) assay on hospital workers. The exposed group dividedto Interventional and Diagnostic groups then compared to non exposed group. The accumulated absorbed doses calculated for the radiation workers were below 5mSv. Blood samples were obtained from 29 samples of medical workers , and 15 samples of control. The Study showed that the frequency of dicentric chromosomes both in exposed and control were not found. In case of micronuclei, the mean frequencies were observed in exposed group that was (19 ±6.22) and (16.25 ± 6.04) respectively and the control group was (10.4±7.79). Frequency MN/1000 cell in the lymphocytes both in the two exposed group was relatively higher compared to control group. However the MN frequencies in all sample group was still in normal range . In this study chronic low radiation dose exposure in the hospital had no significant effect on chromosome aberration nor micronuclei. The benefit of the study is to enrich the potential usefulness of cytogenetic assay providing safety index in medical surveillance programs. The results suggest that education and retraining of staff concerning radiation safety guidelines need to be done to maintain the safety aspects of radiation.

Objective To evaluate the possible protective role of honey formed through innovative way by using magnetized water instead of tab water in supplementary feeding for bees (HW) and compared with two honey types formed by two different feeding solutions; sugar syrup (HS) and nectar of flowers (HF) against cyclophosphamide (CP) genotoxicity in mice bone marrow cells, by using the micronucleus assay (MN). Methods Mice were divided into 8 groups from 3 animals each. G1 as control. G2 were exposed to CP (40 mg/kg), G3, G4, and G5 received two dose of three types of honey at doses (300, 600 mg/kg) respectively. The other groups G6, G7 and G8 were supplemented with three types honey (300 mg/kg) in three different experimental protocols, as pre 2 h, post 2 h, and concomitant treatment for 7 and 14 days. Results Examination and analysis of MN showed no mutagenic effect of three types honey per se doses, especially in low dose (300 mg/kg). Meanwhile, CP induced a significant (P < 0.01) increase in MN frequency. While dual treatment with groups of honey HW caused a significant reduction in MN induced by CP in bone marrow cells in a time-dependant manner. Also, the results confirmed the protective efficacy of HW group and/or HF group as compared with HS group, against CP-toxicity. Conclusion Our study suggests using magnetized water in supplementary feeding of bee, that could give the honey protective effect against genotoxicity induced by CP, it is also fosters antioxidant activity of honey constituents. Therefore, honey HW can be used as an adjuvant with chemotherapeutic agents for minimizing the genotoxic side effects of the anticancer drug CP.

Recycling of fruit waste is one of the most important ways of utilizing it in a number of novel products , as well as in medicine, so came this research to verify the protective role of the extracts of sweet orange (Citrus sinensis L.) peels against genotoxicity induced by cyclophosphamide on human peripheral lymphocytes using the micronucleus and chromosomal aberration tests.Conducted overlap between Aqueous and alcohol extracts orange peel with the drug, through three types of transactions (before, after, with treatment). In order to test the effectiveness of the extracts, three concentrations of 5, 10 and 15 µg / ml where tested the prevention or minimization the effect of the drug (80 µg / ml) on human blood lymph . The extracts of the orange peel has antimutagenic potential induced by cyclophosphamide this may prevent the mutagenic effect of various genotoxic or carcinogenic agents, and thus utilization of fruit waste and products for therapeutic purpose. Contribution/ OriginalityThis study is one of very few studies which have investigated of antimutagenic effect of fruit waste such as orange peel against cytotoxic effect of cyclophosphamide , The paper's primary contribution is its finding that these fruit waste can be used to prevent the mutagenic effect of various genotoxic or carcinogenic agents . These findings contribute to the understanding of the health benefits of fruit waste. This study originates new formula to recycling of fruit waste and benefit from it in the therapeutic purpose.
