“…In recent years, great efforts have been devoted to fabricating various temperature-sensitive hydrogel materials due to their potential application in medicinal chemistry as well as in catalysis for a large number of reactions. The fabrication of a temperature-sensitive hydrogel (nanoreactor) is mainly achieved by using a suitable hydrophilic template. , Recently, poly( N -isopropylacrylamide) was extensively used to prepare such kind of novel ″smart″ materials that exhibit volume phase transition in response to environmental stimuli, like temperature, pH, etc., by utilizing its semi-interpenetrating polymeric networks . Although PVA possesses the same type of polymeric networks, the fabrication of thermosensitive hydrogels is very rare.…”

“…The nanocomposites containing AuNPs [49] or both Au and PdNPs [46] were used as heterogeneous nanocatalysts for the catalytic decomposition of 4-nitrophenol (4-NF) to 4-aminophenol (4-AF). As compared to the other studies [50][51][52][53][54][55][56], the designed catalysts led to the complete decomposition of 4-NF, and what is more, their physical form (suspension copolymers of grain diameter 0.6 mm) allowed their convenient and multiple reuse, without any additional treatment [46,49]. Because within the research project, a second type of nanocatalysts for decomposition of 4-NP was designed, the NCs for applications in catalysis are summarized and compared to the literature further in the text (please refer to Table 4).…”

“…The composite was prepared using a distinct ratio of Au:Pd. Although, the as-prepared catalyst demonstrated superior catalytic activity and strong stability towards the reduction of 4-nitrophenol, however, the catalyst was prepared by a complicated process which requires several steps [41]. However, in this study, smaller sizes Au NPs are uniformly distributed on the ZrO 2 surface in a single step which enhanced the catalytic properties of the resulting composite.…”
