The Defensive Secretion of a Polydesmoid Millipede (Diplopoda)

Abstract: Chemical studies utilizing colour tests, gas chromatographic and mass spectrometric analysis have shown that hydrogen cyanide and benzaldehyde are constituents of the defensive secretion of the polydesmoid millipede Apheloria coriacea (Koch).
