“…In order to ensure high levels of ‘dental fitness’ amongst UKAF personnel, Defence Primary Healthcare provides Routine Dental Care , including periodic dental inspection and treatment in a primary care (Tier‐I) setting, with treatment being provided by General Dental Practitioners . However, allied to this, to improve the clinical effectiveness of dental care provision to the UKAF, Defence Primary Healthcare utilizes a Restorative Managed Clinical Network to coordinate, triage and treat complex restorative cases, including the management of periapical disease (Bryce et al., 2021). The Restorative Managed Clinical Network is Restorative Consultant led and supported by a geographically located network of Dentists with a Special Interest in both restorative dentistry and endodontics, with the latter group having undertaken a service‐funded full‐time 1‐year clinical programme leading to a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Endodontics.…”
