The Development of an Evaluation Model to Assess the Effect of Online English Teaching Based on Fuzzy Mathematics

Abstract: The evaluation of online English teaching effect involves multiple fuzzy factors. This paper attempts to develop a model that fully considers these factors in evaluating the effect of online English teaching. Firstly, the constraints and weaknesses of online English teaching were enumerated, revealing the key points of improving online English teaching effect. On this basis, several evaluation index systems (EIS) were established for this effect from the perspectives of teachers, students, and administrators. … Show more

“…Classroom management, such as how pupils spend their time in class, how much homework they have, and how much rest they get, is an important part of the teacher's job. Give students more space for active learning, so that students' autonomy, independence, initiative, and creativity can be developed and improved, and ultimately achieve the goal of further improving the quality of education [1][2][3][4][5].…”

“…Combining online and offline teaching approaches can assist in integrating resources and providing learners with a variety of high-quality online resources, such as educational films and software, to help them understand the topic being taught in the classroom. As they continue to study and grow, they can improve themselves as educators by employing a variety of tools to lay a firm foundation of academic literacy, which in turn helps students learn more effectively while also boosting classroom standards [15,16]. Given that each student is unique, teachers who utilize the same teaching technique with each of their courses risk stunting their students' progress and failing to meet their individual learning needs.…”

“…Teaching quality is the lifeline for the development and survival of colleges and universities, and "teaching quality evaluation" has been recognized by the majority of colleges and universities as an effective measure and means to promote the improvement of the quality of teaching in colleges and universities [10]. Literature [11] establishes an improved multi-attribute fuzzy evaluation model of the online English teaching effect based on fuzzy mathematics, which makes the data of the online English teaching effect visualized and has good engineering application potential. Literature [12] studied and analyzed the multilevel evaluation framework of education quality in universities, built the evaluation system of teaching performance and students' learning outcomes based on the similar preference ranking technique of ideal solution (TOPSIS) and single-valued neutrosophic set (SVNS) method, and confirmed the feasibility of this evaluation system through examples, which can effectively evaluate the teaching quality and other multidimensional aspects of lecturers.…”
