The development of photosynthetic light reactions in cultured apple embryos in relation to their embryonal dormancy

Abstract

The development of photosynthetic light reactions (photoreduction and photophosphorylation) was studied in cotyledons of cultured embryos isolated from stratified and non-stratified apple seeds (Malus domestica Borb. cv. Antonówka). The results obtained show the presence of an energy transfer inhibitor in the cotyledons of the stratified embryos.
